I recently downloaded Office professional plus under the microsoft HUP home use programme. I have downloaded the files and when i run them setup starts and all seems well. When the install gets so far it will stop and the progress bar goes back as if starting again then a short while later it will stop completely and a message comes up saying » setup has encountered and error and will close » it does not give an error code.
I have tried this several times and each time it has done the same. I have also tried re-downloading the files from microsoft as i though they may be corrupt but this made no differance.
I am running windows vista home premium 32bit with service pack 2 installed. I do not have any old versions of office on my system, i did have a trial version of office the first time i tried this install however i have now removed this. I have norton on my computer however i dont think this would affect the install.
Can anyone offer any advice as to why i am getting this message and how to solve the problem??? If any further system information is needed please ask and i will try to provide.
OK, since it’s obstinate, you’re going to have to do things manually, skip them Fix It tools. Do a clean boot and then follow the process to manually uninstally all office apps.
